Today, Tigo Rwanda is happy to announce new tariffs for International calls to Europe for both prepaid and post-paid customers.
The new tariffs for International calls to Europe are Frw 45 per minute: Belgium, France, Netherlands, and United Kingdom and Frw 95 per minute: Rest of Europe

After years of Rwandans only being able to enjoy 2G and 3G networks on their mobile handsets, Tigo launched the very first 4G LTE for mobile in September 2015. Tigo Rwanda has announced a new initiative with 20 SACCOs that will avail mobile financial services to more than 77,000 Customers in 20 districts nationwide. Under this partnership, customers with both bank accounts in SACCOs and Tigo cash wallets will find the two platforms fully integrated; customers can now transfer funds from their SACCO accounts to their Tigo Cash wallets and vice versa automatically.
Millicom, a leading telecommunications company with over 60 million customers in fourteen countries across Latin America and Africa, has appointed Philip Amoateng, as General Manager of its operations in Rwanda. The firm operates locally as Tigo Rwanda.
Amoateng, 40, who was most recently Tigo Ghana’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) replaces Tongai Maramba. Amoateng was also Tigo Rwanda’s CFO for four years.
Today Tigo Rwanda hosted the second edition of the ‘Tigo 4G Phone Festival’ at the Tigo Service Center in Remera following a similar event at the Tigo Head office in Muhima, Nyarugenge on 26, February. The event, which begun at 9:00am, not only gave customers the opportunity to experience 4G LTE Internet but also gave them the chance to purchase 4G LTE enabled smartphones at reduced prices as well as 4G data packs.
Tigo Rwanda has launched the Frw 50 million Tigo Women Entrepreneurship Fund in partnership with the National Women Council during the International Women’s Day celebrations in Butare Cell, Gasabo District. The Fund will provide startup capital to more than 300 women from across the country to open mobile money businesses.
Tigo Rwanda post-paid customers are now able to enjoy low rates for 4G data packs, special tariffs for calls and SMS as well as free 4G LTE enabled smartphones.
Customers who sign up to a 24-month subscription will receive a free 4G LTE enabled smartphone of their choice. In addition to a free 4G LTE enabled smartphone, they will enjoy special tariffs on local and international calls, 4G packs and SMS.
